Do you want to learn more about graphic design?

I work with people around the country to help them improve their skills. Whether you have had training, or are completely new to the industry, you can better master the tools of the trade. I have helped people with everything from specific design challenges to better understanding the latest technology, along with questions on how to build your career as a designer.

After doing this for some time through word of mouth, I have decided to just let everyone know about it. I really enjoy talking to people and making new connections, so it seems natural to tell you about it here.

Some of the areas we can cover are:

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Image Retouching
  • Graphic Design Principles
  • Logo Desig Principles
  • Web Design Principles
  • Mac OS X
  • File Organization Best Practices
  • FTP, and File Transfer for Output
  • Pre-press File Preparation
  • HTML and CSS Basics
  • Troubleshooting Techniques
  • Content Management Systems
  • Working Remotely

I have worked with people from all types of background with different skill-sets refine and improve their knowledge in just a few short sessions. Everyone has different strengths and you can choose to enhance those or build up weaker skills. I love design and I love teaching, so this is my opportunity to bring those together productively for us both.

Where Do The Sessions Take Place?

Right on your own computer.

We conduct the session over Skype, which not only allows us to talk as if we were in the same room, but also allows us to share screens remotely so you can see every step of what's going on. Or we can switch to your screen and I can coach you through your work-flow using your native environment, either way works for me and both are great methods for learning.

What Happens If There Are… Technical Difficulties?

Hey, it happens, right? Don't worry, I make sure you get every second of teaching. If for some reason the internet doesn't want to play nice I will be glad to make up the time (plus a little extra) on another day. Fortunately this has never happened so far.

What Do I Need?

You will need to have your own computer as well as your own copy of whatever program you want to learn. I guess you could just watch me use mine and ask questions, but I doubt that would be optimal, so you'll want to get that sorted out up front. Also, you should get Skype. It's super simple to use and it's free! You simply need a credit card and the PayPal invoice I send will take care of the rest.

How Do I Pay?

After we have scheduled a session, I will send a Paypal invoice. After that, we simply log into Skype at the agreed time and BOOM! we are live! So far I have found Paypal to be the most convenient method of payment, but I'm totally willing to discuss another method if it's important to you. Just pop me an email and let me know.

How Much Does It Cost?

Right now I'm charging only $50 per hour. However, depending on my availability this may go up at any time. I highly recommend contacting me quickly if you want to get in at this price, there's no telling how long I will be able to keep it that low.

Where Do I Sign Up?

I'm glad you asked! All you have to do is send me an email letting me know you are interested in some juicy design knowledge and we can set up a time, it's that easy!

You can email me at: cjmcontact at gmail dot com. (You know the deal, write that as if it was an email address, that way we can keep the spam monsters from creeping into my inbox.)

If for some reason you are email-phobic, you can find me on the twitters under the name: @interrupt_d

If Twitter isn't your thing, I can be found lurking around G+ every now and then, so feel free to try me there.

If that doesn't work for you, then you might be the type of person to use LinkedIn (just a hunch), in which case, you can locate me here at my dandy LinkedIn Profile.

All in all the best method is to email me. :)

Looking forward to talking to you soon!
